I'm Karen Broemmelsick

I’m Karen Broemmelsick, an artist who creates colorful and eye-catching equine paintings. My aim is to share the spirit and beauty of the horse with others, one painting at a time.

I was born and raised in southeast Missouri, now living in Mississippi, and I have been creating art for over 15 years. My paintings explore the essence of the horse’s strength and spirit, inspired by the beautiful horses I’ve met and photographed around the world.

My paintings are colorful, bold and expressive.

They’re created to stop you in your tracks and remind you of everything horses have to offer, all without ulterior motives.

I’ve traveled the world to photograph the horses I paint. These are horses I’ve personally met and photographed – from Spain, Portugal, France, and the USA, and include breeds such as Andalusians, Lusitanos, Friesians, Quarter Horses, Arabians, Tennessee Walking Horses, Missouri Foxtrotters, Mérens, and many other breeds.

While horses are my focus, I also enjoy painting and photographing other animals such as dogs, cats, birds, and whatever else I come across. All of my current paintings are created digitally on the iPad, though I also paint traditionally in oils and draw with colored pencils from time to time.
